Before My Dog

Intro
G

[Verso 1]

G C G
Before my dog, there was no hair on my clothes
              C G
Didn't have a reason to head home
                     D
Before the last call lights came on
          G
Before my dog
         C G
Bark was something that grew on trees
            C G
I was never tied to a leash
                D
And nights like these we're way more lonely
             Am7 G
Now I'll get 14 years if I'm lucky
    C
Ya, she'll get me through my twenties

[Refrão]

         G C
But if I die before my dog
    Em D G
The treats are in the kitchen cupboard
                  C
Make her sit even when she's stubborn
        G C
Let her head hang out the window
              Em D
She loves her ears blowing in the wind
               G C
Take her to my parents, last house on the left
   Am7 G/B
If all dogs go to heaven
             C D G
Tell her I'm trying every trick I know to get in

[Verso 2]

G
And then I'll sit and wait
           C G
For her to run through the pearly gates
           C G
A field of clouds with squirrels to chase
                 D
For once I won't worry about her fur going gray
           G
God's best friend
                C G
She'll lick the faces of all the angels
                C G D
Grandpa will be finally be able to feed her from the table once again
       Am7 G/B
I'm so sorry for every sin
         C
I hope I make it up in the end

[Refrão]

         G C
But if I die before my dog
    Em D G
The treats are in the kitchen cupboard
                  C

Take her to my parents, last house on the left
   Am7 G/B
If all dogs go to heaven
             C D G
Tell her I'm trying every trick I know to get in
    C Em D/F# C
I'm trying every trick I taught her to get in

[Ponte]

      Am7 G/B C
And I hope one day she doesn't wonder where I went
         Am7 G/B C D
But if I know her, there's no fence that'll keep her in if she's following my scent

[Refrão]
