The Blues Man

Intro: A Bm E A

[Verso 1]

I'm just a singer,
A D
   A natural-born guitar ringer
        E A
Kind of a clinger to sad old songs
                 A Bm
I'm not a walk-behinder, I'm a new note finder
                  E A
But my name's a reminder of a blues man that's already gone
   Bsus4
So I started drinkin',
A D
Took things that messed up my thinkin'
E A
I was sure sinkin', when you came along
                                        Bm
I was alone in the hot lights, not too much left in sight
                     E A
But she changed all that one night, she sang me this song

[Refrão]

       A
Said, "Hey baby, I love you
            Bm
Hey baby, I need you
              E A
Hey baby, you ain't got to prove to me you're some kind of macho man
              E A
You've wasted so much of your life,
                    Bm
Running through the dark nights
                    E A D A
Let me shine a 'lil love light down on the blues man."

[Verso 2]

      E A
I got so sick from speedin',
                          D
All the stuff they said I was needin'
   D E A
If I was to keep on pleasin', all of my fans
      Bsus2 A Bm
I got cuffed on dirt roads, sued over no-shows
                      E A
But she came and took all that old load, down off this blues...man

[Refrão]

           E A
Said, "Hey baby, I love you too
           Bm
Hey baby, I...need you
        E A
Baby, I do get tired of this travelin' band
         A
I'm over 30 years old now,
                Bm
Nights would be cold now,
              E A
If you hadn't stuck it out, with this blues...man
         A
I'm over 30 years old now,
                Bm
Nights would be cold...now,
             E
If you hadn't stuck it out
N.C.
With this blues...man...
