Intro:
A E A

[Verso 1]

      A              A
I am now a child of God,
            D                A
Ive been washed in Jesus blood,
       A                 A
I am watching and Im longing
         E
While I wait;
          A                 A
Soon on wings of love Ill fly,
       D              A
To a home beyond the sky;
         A
To my welcome,
         A       E         A
As Im sweeping thro the gates.

[Refrão]

   A                 A
Sweeping thro the gates,
   A                 E
Sweeping thro the gates,
         A                  A
In the blood of Calvrys Lamb,
              D            A
Washed from every stain I am;
    A
Hallelujah!
         A      E         A
I am sweeping thro the gates.

[Verso 2]

           A              A
Oh, the blessèd Lord of light
       D                A
Now upholds me by His might,
         A                 A
And His arms enfold and comfort
         E
While I wait;
        A             A
I am leaning on His breast;
             D             A
Oh, the sweetness of this rest!
    A
Hallelujah!
         A      E         A
I am sweeping thro the gates.

Sweeping thro the gates,
   A                 E
Sweeping thro the gates,
         A                  A
In the blood of Calvrys Lamb,
              D            A
Washed from every stain I am;
    A
Hallelujah!
         A      E         A
I am sweeping thro the gates.

[Verso 3]

         A               A
I am sweeping thro the gate,
            D             A
Where the blessèd for me wait,
           A
Where the weary workers
  A          E
Rest forevermore.
            A                 A
Where the strife of earth is done,
          D               A
And the crown of life is won,
          A            E          A
Oh, the glory of that city just before!

   A                 E
Sweeping thro the gates,
         A                  A
In the blood of Calvrys Lamb,
              D            A
Washed from every stain I am;
    A
Hallelujah!

I am sweeping thro the gates.

[Verso 4]

           A             A
Burst are all my prison bars,
       D                A
And I soar beyond the stars,
         A
To my Fathers house,
       A                E
The bright and blest estate;
         A
Lo! the morn eternal breaks,
         D              A
And the song immortal wakes,
            A
Washed in Jesus blood,
       A       E         A
Im sweeping thro the gates!

I am sweeping thro the gates!
