From Every Stormy Wind That Blows

[Verso 1]

     Bb Eb Bb
From ev-'ry storm-y wind that blows,
     F Bb F
From ev-'ry swell-ing tide of woes,
Bb F7 Gm Eb Bb Eb F
There is a calm, a sure re-treat--
Bb F#dim Gm Eb F7 Bb
'Tis found be-neath the mer-cy seat.

[Verso 2]

      Bb Eb Bb
There is a place where Je-sus sheds
    F Bb F
The oil of glad-ness on our heads,
Bb F7 Gm Eb Bb Eb F
A place than all be-sides more sweet--
Bb F#dim Gm Eb F7 Bb
It is the blood-bought mer-cy seat.

[Verso 3]

      Bb Eb Bb
There is a scene where spir-its blend,
      F Bb F
Where friend holds fel-low-ship with friend;
Bb F7 Gm Eb Bb Eb F
Tho sun-dered far, by faith they meet
Bb F#dim Gm Eb F7 Bb
A-round one com-mon mer-cy seat.

[Verso 4]

    Bb Eb Bb
Ah! whi-ther could we flee for aid
     F Bb F
When tempt-ed, des-o-late, dismayed,
Bb F7 Gm Eb Bb Eb F
Or how the hosts of hell de-feat,
Bb F#dim Gm Eb F7 Bb
Had suf-f'ring saints no mer-cy seat?

[Verso 5]

    Bb Eb Bb
Ah! there on ea-gle wings we soar,
    F Bb F
And sin and sense mo-lest no more;
Bb F7 Gm Eb Bb Eb F
And heav'n comes down our souls to greet,
Bb F#dim Gm Eb F7 Bb
While glo-ry crowns the mer-cy seat.
